A 21-year-old maid, Patience Agi, has been docked over alleged theft of $1,000, £1,300 and other valuables from her employer.
The defendant, who resides at Milverton Road, Ikoyi, is facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against her by the police.
The prosecutor, Inspector Philip Osijale, told the court that the defendant, and others still at large, committed the alleged offences on August 27.
He said the incident took place at the Milverton Road, Ikoyi residence at about12 noon.
Osijale said that the defendant also stole N20,000, 10 pieces of necklaces, five pieces of earrings and five bracelets, all valued at N85,000.
The prosecutor further informed the court that all the stolen properties belong to one Mrs Eno Edet.
According to the prosecutor, the offences committed are punishable under Sections 409 and 285 (1) of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
Magistrate Martins Owumi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum.
He said that one of the sureties must be a blood relation, show evidence of tax payment and ordered that their addresses must be verified.
The matter was adjourned till September 15 for mention.
