UPDATE: Bayelsa State APC gubernatorial primary election marred with violence and thuggery

The Bayelsa APC governorship primary election held today at the Samson Siasia Stadium ended as a sham with thugs forcing themselves into the arena with helpless security looking akimbo.

Delegates were pelted with various objects as they queue to enter the stadium, as security operatives trued in vain to maintain order.

When Oshiomhole the recognised head of the electoral committee entered the stadium, he was not spared the embarrassment as he was called all sorts of names.

The rancorous situation made him to call the aspirants for a meeting.

The meeting ended in deadlock as many aspirants called for cancellation of the process insisting that thugs have infiltrated the original delegates lists.

General Gossips gathered that a confused Oshiomhole left the stadium without conducting the election with his team.

A delegates who spoke on anonymity to General Gossips revealed that the Timipre Silva group insisted that the election must hold.

According to him, "So when Oshiomhole left the stadium, the State executive of the party insisted that they will continue with the primaries. So they held the primaries after all the aspirants have left, every thugs, Toms, Dick and Harry entered and vote.

"At the end they declared that Silva won with 728 votes from the 1508 delegates that were supposed to vote. The whole thing was a sham, it was a terrible fraud and it shows that PDP is better organized for the election."
