Cultist kill Delta poly student in Ozoro

A student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, has been shot dead by suspected cultists.

The deceased, who was a final year National Diploma student in Business Administration, was killed in the early hours of Sunday in his hostel apartment at Uruole Street in the polytechnic community.

Though the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, sources said he was asleep in the hostel alongside his two room mates when the hoodlums broke into their apartment and shot him on the neck.

A source in the deceased’s neighbourhood, said they had heard a gunshot at about 1am on Sunday morning, saying the deceased was later found dead after his assailants had fled the area.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident.

She, however, said the killing resulted from a cult clash, adding that “there was a gun at the place where his corpse was found.”

Kalu said the police had commenced investigation into the matter.
