Olu of Warri Designate assures on religion tolerance

THE Olu of Warri Kingdom Designate, Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko has assured Muslims and other religion followers in Delta State of his cooperation and a hospitable stay through out his reign.

The Olu Designate gave the assurance yesterday when Muslims drawn from the twenty-five local government areas in Delta State paid him homage in Warri.

Speaking on behalf of the Olu Designate, Prince Yemi Emiko said that Muslims and other religions
serve one God irrespective of the name they call.
"I want to assure you that in this Kingdom, Muslims are welcome as well as other religion and it is true that you are the first group to come.

"It is true that the foundation of the mosque was actually laid by our grand father, Ginuwa II. You could even see that the first son of the Olu Designate is also a muslim. We believe that this time around, all
religion we are serving one God irrespective of the name we call."

Earlier Chairman of the Delta State Muslims, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha hailed the emergence of the Olu designate just as he assured him of muslims resolve to support his reign in Warri Kingdom.

While noting that Islam is a peaceful religion, Alhaji Unagha disabused the minds of the Olu designate who was flanked by some members of the Warri Council of Chief saying,"Islam is all about peace. Where it not,if truly  that Islam is a religion of crisis or associated with boko haram you would have heard that muslims are fighting in every area of Warri but i do know that there is no muslim fighting each other. No muslim is fighting any Itsekiri person or any of your subjects.

Unagha noted that visit on the Olu designate was,"To come and commiserate with the Olu Designate over the death of the late Olu of Warri, HRM. Ogiame Atuwatse II.

"Muslims leaders drawn from the 25 local
government areas have come to commiserate with you over the demise of the late Olu of Warri but while we were contemplating on how to reach you, the news filtere filtered in that another dynamic Olu has been
selected. So we as muslims when we someone is mourning, we mourn with them and when someone is rejoicing,we rejoice with them.

"So, we have come today to mourn with you and and to rejoice with you.the relationship that exists between muslims and Itsekiri Kingdom is a bond that nobody can break. I do know that in 1948 the foundation of
the first mosque was laid by the Olu of Warri.

"At a festival period like this, our top priority is to come
and pay homage on our landlord which is our father,Your Royal Majesty. We thank Allah that Allah has brought you.

"Like the Imam has prayed every muslim has come to Warri to pray so that God will continue to strengthen you. I like to say Your Royal Majesty that Islam is one of the most peaceful religion you can think of not minding those miscreants who call themselves Boko
Haram.

"Islam is about peace where it not ,if truely that Islam is a religion of crisis or associated with Boko Haram, you would have heard that muslims are fighting in every area of Warri."
