A retired soldier, who is fondly called “Baba Soldier” by his neighbours, at No. 13 Abeokuta Street, near Agege Stadium, Agege, Lagos, on 25th August 25, set himself ablaze.
We gathered that tragedy took place in the man’s about 4.00 p.m., when a co-tenant noticed a fire burning in his room. A girl who saw Baba Soldier said, he drank kerosene and used the rest to wet his body before setting himself ablaze.
General Gossips can authoritatively report that the remain of his body is still in his room as at the press time.
His co-tenant, an elderly woman, who refuse to give her name, said he intentionally killed himself because of frustration. An Okada man, who spoke with reporters said, he always beg them for money to eat.
