By Akpokona Omafuaire

WARRI - A frontline People's Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye has noted that an industrialized Delta state is very possible as he declared his intention formally before the party executives.

Iyovwaye, made the remarks today at the PDP secretariat in Asaba in his address to the leadership of the party and party faithfuls.

The Agholokpe born Marine business mogul stunned the leadership with his presentation and SMART PLUS agenda.

The gubernatorial aspirant described Delta state as a mini Nigeria, adding that Delta state has all the resources to make the state the envy of other states in Nigeria.

Iyovwaye who paid glowing tribute to past governors of the state also commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for transforming Delta state.

He commended PDP leaders in the state for promising a level playing field for all aspirants.

Chris said he was interested in governing Delta state because of the kind of values he could bring to Delta state.

According to him, "Week in, week out, I engage with our youths. I see their needs and I believe that the agenda that we'll bring to the table will address the issues of security, energy, education, industrialisation and health care such that these youths can be brought in and make their lives meaningful. This is the motivation that is making me to present myself for the exalted office."

In his remarks at the event, the chairman of PDP in Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Esiso noted that it was always good for an aspirant to have a clear vision of what they intend to do and they must possess the ability to bring the vision to fruition.

Esiso promised that the party would provide a level playing ground for all the aspirants, adding that they would all be given equal opportunities.

He advised that those seeking elective offices should know how to go about their aspirations, adding that it wasn't his responsibility to campaign for any aspirant.

"I cannot campaign for or support any aspirant. Ours is to provide a level playing ground. But after the primaries and a candidate has emerged, then we will support our candidate," he concluded.
