Oshiomhole condoles Itsekiri nation

WARRI - EDO State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole yesterday paid a condolence visit on the  Itsekiri Nation in Warri, Delta State over the passage of the Olu of Warri, HRM. Ogiame Atuwatse II.

He also prayed God to grant the Itsekiri
nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Oshiomhole accompanied by top government functionaries, noted that the late Olu contribution to the
Itsekiri Nation, Warri Kingdom and Nigeria at large is immense.

The Governor noted that the Binis and their Itsekiri brothers can not elaborate on the pains the Olu’s departure has caused.

“We are not in a position to question God’s will or our ancestors but to
pray that God grant his infinite mercy grant on the Warri Kingdom to
bear the irreparable loss.”

In his words, “We value the relationship that exists between us in the spirit of Bendel, we are one, we are with you
in our prayers, the trust and bond that existed between us will continue to grow stronger.”

Oshiomhole prayed God to grant to grant the soul of the departed Olu eternal rest in his bosom.

The Regent of Itsekiri Nation, Prince (Barr.) Eroro Emiko thanked Governor Oshiomhole, pointing out that the presence of the governor and
other eminent Nigerians around the Itsekiris gives them confidence.

"Our hearts are heavy but when we look around and see people like you,
our long journey will be achieveable.”

Earlier in his remark, Chief Brown Mene noted that the departure of the Olu of Warri took the Itsekiri Nation by surprise, insisting that Warri Kingdom has every reason to celebrate because the late monarch made tremendous contributions to his people and Nigeria at large.

The Akulagba of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayiri Emami added that Governor Oshiomhole has shown that he is a true brother for coming to mourn with them.

Present at the condolence visit were, Chief .S.S. Rone, Chief Isaac Jemide, Chief .N. Utienyione,, Chief .C.D. Ikomi, Chief Brown Mene, Dr. Duakpenmi Andrew Ayi, Chief (Mrs.) Rita Lori Ogbebor, Prince Ola Emiko, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Prophet Jones Erue, Delta State Chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, and host of others.
