Knights take Pro-life to Secondary Schools

Akpokona Omafuaire‎

WARRI - THE Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba, Ugborikoko Sub-Council has
taken what it termed pro-life programme, which preached against abortion to secondary schools in Warri.

The Knights and Ladies who were at the popular Aunty Rose Group of
Schools with the theme "Health Challenges of the Adolescent Youth”
noted that the reason they took the pro-life to secondary schools is
to contribute their quota to the challenges of youths and adolescents
in the area and to help with preventive measures to aid them from
horrible happenings.

The lecture which was delivered on behalf of the Knights and Ladies by
Dr.Aduba Nicholas, KSM, noted that youth/adolescents are usually
plagued with unwanted or early pregnancies, sexual transmitted
disease including HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, hard drugs alcoholism and
smoking, deviant behaviour such as rape, thuggery, violent crimes,
robbery, kidnapping, ritaual killing, sex commercialization, and other
social vices.

While noting the consequences of unwanted pregnacy as well as other
misbehaviours, the Knights and Ladies stressed the need for parents to
properly educate and guide the youth/adolescent with strong religious
and moral teachimgs and other social needs provided.
