WARRI - THE James Welch Grammar Schoool Emevor Old Boys Association has elected new officers to run its affairs at the just concluded Annual General Meeting, AGM, held at the school st Emevor.
The AGM which was declared open by the National president of the Assiociation, Real Admiral Francis Dan Akpan RTD had many old students in attendance.
In his address, Akpan welcome all delegates, and congratulated a member of the Assiociation, Bishop John Aruakpor, Bishop of Oleh Diocese, Anglican Communion, on his birthday celebration, and thank God for his grace upon the life of the members of the Assiociation.
The President appreciated founders of the association for their vision and unflinching support towards the objectives of the Assiociation. He tasked all members to make personal contribution and sacrifices towards the development of the assiociation and to be dedicated.
Earlier in his welcome address, Principal of the school, Mr. Joel U. Ofierohor thanked the assiociation for their contribution towards the growth and development of the school. He listed the achievement of the school to include excellent results performance in external exams.
The proprietor of the school and Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Oleh, Rt. Revd. John U. Aruakpor in his remark reinstated the missionary's effort and his desires of returning the school to it's former standard.
Highpoint of the event was a call for the dissolution of the current National Executive which was moved by Chief Hillary Ukusare and seconded by Prince Paul Onoroha.
The election was thereafter conducted by the electoral committee led by Mr. Johnbull Uyeh and had Chief H. A. Ukusare and Bakare Ochuko as members.
Real Admiral Francis Dan Akpan RTD, emerged as President; Sir Francis Ojojo,
1st Vice President; Samuel Okpako, 2nd Vice President; Prince Joshua Uweya,
Secretary; Clem Onowhotu, Assistant Secretary.
Others are, Issac Ofu, Treasurer; Prince Paul Onoroha, Financial Secretary; Alex Otuata, Publicity Secretary/P.R.O; Evbodaghe Ehis, Social Secretary; Engr. Fred Edafioghor, Ex-officio 1 and Justice J. E. Shakarho as Ex-officio 2.
